2nd Watch Helps Companies Diversify Cloud Platforms

Companies are increasingly seeking ways to facilitate their digital transformations and increase operational efficiency. Moving to the cloud is an important piece of that puzzle and is a priority for many companies, especially given the impacts of the pandemic. In fact, a recent survey found that 40% of businesses said that COVID-19 is accelerating their move to the cloud. And in the United States, the cloud computing market is predicted to grow from $233 billion in 2019 to $295 billion by 2021, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 12.5%.

A recent survey by 2nd Watch found that 76% of companies with at least $500 million in annual sales are planning to diversify from their main cloud provider. So it makes sense that the company has now launched a new service for companies that want to be able to access more than one cloud platform or a combination of on-premises and cloud infrastructure.

The offering, Hybrid Cloud Solutions with Anthos, will enable companies to modernize their apps while allowing them to choose where they are stored. Companies can consolidate across on-premises, Google Cloud, and other clouds, while still being able to easily move and run applications when and where needed. The platform, which includes setup, application migration, and training, also boasts a Unified Management Console for visibility into different cloud environments.

“Enterprise IT leaders understand the value of modernizing their applications in order to increase agility and efficiency, jump-start growth and accelerate time to market,” said Chris Garvey, EVP of Product at 2nd Watch. “Some modernization may already be occurring in pockets throughout your organization, but the complexity of proprietary IT stack, dependencies on legacy applications, and slow speed of migration can inhibit you from gaining desired outcomes. With Hybrid Cloud Solutions with Google Cloud Anthos from 2nd Watch, it’s never been easier to adopt a modern, multi-cloud application architecture.”

This is the latest Google Cloud-centric service launched by 2nd Watch. Earlier this month, the company announced its Cloud Modernization Readiness Assessment service, which evaluates a company’s IT estate to determine application “fitness” and the optimal migration methodology for its workloads to improve resiliency and reduce cost. Offerings such as these will help companies to be better equipped to effectively manage their cloud transitions.
