Accenture Federal Services and OpenAI have formed a strategic collaboration aimed at helping U.S. federal agencies adopt, migrate, and scale advanced AI more quickly. Accenture Federal will serve as an OpenAI implementation partner for the federal market, supporting agencies as they move AI work from experimentation into production-ready government environments.
The collaboration is designed to give agencies federal-ready implementation patterns, governance frameworks, and delivery assets built around government data, compliance, and operations. Accenture Federal said the effort will help agencies modernize legacy systems, migrate AI workloads faster, and embed AI into core mission workflows.
A central part of the partnership is the Accenture Federal + OpenAI Agentic Lab at The Forge, Accenture Federal’s hands-on reinvention center. The lab will allow agencies to design, test, and validate agentic workflows and human-in-the-loop solutions before moving them into broader deployment.
Accenture Federal has also established a dedicated group of OpenAI-trained solution architects and forward-deployed engineers to help agencies develop reference architectures, integration blueprints, and designs for AI adoption across legacy and modern systems. The company said it will support FedRAMP-aligned implementation pathways for OpenAI Codex capabilities across regulated federal environments.
The collaboration also extends inside Accenture Federal’s own workforce. The company plans to give its 15,000 professionals secure, governed access to OpenAI’s latest models, while enabling more than 3,000 practitioners to use Codex models in enterprise development environments and 1,500 practitioners to use ChatGPT Enterprise for government client delivery.
Ron Ash, CEO of Accenture Federal Services, said agencies “can no longer afford slow, siloed adoption” as AI becomes core infrastructure for government. Joe Larson, OpenAI’s Vice President for Government, said the collaboration is intended to give agencies a faster and safer path to operational AI impact while maintaining trust, security, and accountability.
