Charles River Associates Healthcare Analytics Platform Continues to Make Strides

Charles River Associates (CRA), a leading global provider of financial, economic, and management consulting services, launched its new data analytics platform, the Healthcare Claims Analytics Platform (HCAP) at the 2022 World Orphan Drug Congress USA. Since then, the firm has continued to hone its capabilities, bolstering CRA’s Life Sciences practice and its clients’ ability to make better data-driven decisions.

“HCAP delivers the power of machine learning and patient analytics to inform market understanding and support intelligent decision-making,” said CRA’s Life Sciences Practice Leader and Vice President, Gregory K. Bell. “Our Analytics team spent a year and a half developing the interface, which is compatible with a variety of data sources and can be customized for client needs. With HCAP, clients can develop insights that inform strategic decisions and key business operations across therapeutic and geographic markets.”

The platform helps clients visualize advanced analytics by providing intelligence on hospitals, physicians, patients, and the healthcare market at large, with a clinical module supporting improved resource-prioritization and recruitment strategies via the identification of key providers and centers in patient care and treatment. The HCAP team was led by Eddie Li, Travis Ruch, Jing Li, and Birnur Ozbas-Erdem over the course of its development. CRA’s Life Sciences practice provides advisory services in policy, strategy, pricing and market access, and litigation to biotech, medical device, and pharma clients, as well as to regulatory bodies, law firms, and industry associations.

The firm’s analytics capabilities are not limited to life sciences, stretching beyond the sector into its work with forensic accounting and compliance across a wide variety of industries. The firm recently expanded its Risk, Investigations, and Analytics practice with the arrival of Alexandra Knatchbull, who began her leadership of CRA’s investigative efforts in Europe at the end of January, serving as a Vice President in its London office.

The Boston headquartered CRA has offices spanning the globe and offers a decades-long history of successfully supporting clients in the life sciences, legal, and regulatory spaces as they navigate some of the industry’s most complex issues. The firm provides a team of seasoned multi-disciplinary experts with deep industry knowledge, decades of hands-on experience spanning thousands of engagements, and rigorous analytic techniques to back its solutions.
