Biography
Bret Greenstein leads West Monroe’s AI strategy, accelerating adoption across the firm and helping clients deliver measurable business results through applied AI. As Chief AI Officer, he drives how West Monroe—and its clients—activate the full potential of AI by embedding it into consulting delivery, workforce enablement, and differentiated client offerings. Since becoming the firm’s first CAIO in 2025, Bret has helped lead West Monroe’s transformation into an AI-native organization, including the expansion of agentic AI services, enterprise AI tooling, and firmwide AI enablement programs designed to scale AI fluency and impact across the enterprise.
With more than 30 years of experience leading AI and data transformations, Bret has held senior leadership roles at PwC, Cognizant, and IBM, where he built and scaled high-growth AI practices, led multi-billion-dollar portfolios, and advised Fortune 500 executives on next-generation technology strategies. At PwC, he played a key role in shaping generative AI strategy and enterprise AI partnerships, including early large-scale adoption initiatives involving OpenAI technologies. Throughout his career, he has focused on helping organizations operationalize emerging technologies to drive innovation, workforce transformation, and measurable business value.
A recognized thought leader in enterprise AI, Bret regularly publishes and speaks on topics including AI ROI, responsible AI governance, workforce transformation, and agentic AI, with appearances at TED AI and other major industry forums. He holds multiple U.S. technology patents, serves as a SwissCognitive Global AI Ambassador, and has been recognized as one of the industry’s leading AI voices, including being named to the DataIQ 100 and receiving recognition as an AI Leader of the Year in the Stevie® Awards.
