Capgemini has been selected by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Digital Services to deliver cybersecurity services to public institutions across the European Union under the MC17 FREIA Cyber Framework Contract. The four-year, multi-million-dollar agreement will be executed through a consortium that includes Airbus Protect, PwC, and NVISO. Under the mandate, Capgemini and its partners will support 71 European institutions, bodies, and agencies by strengthening cyber defenses and safeguarding critical digital systems. The consortium secured all three contract lots, covering the full cybersecurity lifecycle, including security operations and incident response, governance and risk oversight, and workforce training and technical support.
The work will align with major EU regulatory requirements such as the NIS2 Directive, the Digital Operational Resilience Act, the EU Cybersecurity Act, and the Cyber Resilience Act, helping institutions address increasing cyber risks while maintaining regulatory compliance. Marc Reinhardt, Global Public Sector Leader at Capgemini, said, “The awarding of all three lots to our consortium underscores the European Commission’s trust in our capability to deliver complex cybersecurity programs at scale.” He added, “By combining strategic foresight with operational agility, we will help European institutions address today’s threats and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.”
