KPMG has launched an expansive global alliance with AI developer Anthropic, embedding the Claude frontier AI model directly into its client delivery systems. The initial integration targets tax clients and private equity firms through the KPMG Digital Gateway, a cloud platform built on Microsoft Azure. By integrating Claude Cowork and Managed Agents into the system, professionals and clients can now build automated agentic workflows within a single environment to address changing regulatory landscapes.
The deployment marks an immediate shift in operational speed for high-stakes financial workflows. Building custom AI agents to adapt to new tax regulations previously required weeks of development across separate tools and chat windows, but the integrated system reduces that timeline to minutes. Beyond tax functions, the alliance positions KPMG as a preferred consultant for deploying Anthropic’s technology to private equity portfolio companies, where the firms will co-develop products like KPMG Blaze to accelerate IT modernization and compress software development lifecycles.
The rollout expands access to Anthropic's suite across KPMG’s entire global workforce of 276,000 people, following initial testing within its U.S. advisory, data labs, and support teams. The operational scale-up is tied to specialized risk management protocols, utilizing Claude within cybersecurity frameworks to detect and patch system vulnerabilities. Emphasizing the practical execution of the tool, Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President of Anthropic, stated that KPMG is "applying the same standard to AI" as they do to industries where accuracy and trust are mandatory, rolling it out across the business and "using it for client work in tax and private equity."
