L.E.K. Consulting has appointed Koya Tsukiji as a Partner in its Life Sciences practice in Tokyo, strengthening the firm’s healthcare and life sciences advisory capabilities in Japan and across Asia-Pacific. Tsukiji brings experience advising pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, and private equity clients on strategy, digital innovation, and M&A-driven transformation.
Tsukiji joins L.E.K. from another global consulting firm, where he served as managing partner in the healthcare and life sciences practices. In that role, he led large-scale transformation programs for Japanese organizations, including multi-year digital and AI-driven initiatives across healthcare and advanced technologies.
His work has included data platform implementation, AI-enabled business strategy, enterprise transformation, global operating model design, and complex program delivery. He has also led cross-border engagements, post-merger integration efforts, and commercial and medical transformations across Japan, the U.S., and other international markets.
Before entering consulting, Tsukiji held senior industry roles advising global pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and private equity firms on organizational transformation, R&D operating models, and commercial strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking, corporate development, and the medical device sector.
Stephen Sunderland, Partner and Head of L.E.K.’s Asia-Pacific practice, said Tsukiji’s experience at the intersection of life sciences, digital innovation, and M&A-driven transformation will help the firm support clients navigating rapid change. Tsukiji said L.E.K.’s life sciences strategy heritage and growing transformation capabilities create a strong platform to help clients address pressures around productivity, technology, and speed to market.
