National security contractor CACI has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointment of Dave Young as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer John Mengucci, Young transitions into the role as the defense technology firm faces increasing pressure to deliver complex operational systems for federal intelligence and military clients.
Young has spent his career managing massive defense portfolios, arriving directly from Lockheed Martin where he served as General Manager of National Security Space. In that position, he maintained full profit-and-loss responsibility for a business unit that generated approximately $7 billion in revenue last year, supervising over 10,000 employees across 250 programs. His background also includes a stint as Chief Operating Officer for CAES, where he oversaw a $1 billion defense electronics segment, following earlier technical and leadership roles at Northrop Grumman.
Under the new operational mandate, Young will directly spearhead CACI’s enterprise operations, engineering execution, and advanced technology programs to sustain corporate scaling and program delivery. Mengucci stated that Young’s "operational discipline, strategic perspective, and leadership experience will strengthen how we execute" on upcoming national security contracts.
