Octo Consulting Steadily Recruits Top Brass

Steadily Virginia-based Octo Consulting has been expanding on all fronts. This year along it received capital backing from Arlington Capital, it won major federal government contracts, and it has hired key executives. It’s human capital that forms the backbone of IT firms and in particular it’s unique relationships with decision makers that drives business forward.

Recently, Octo announced it had hired Harold Poston, a former principal at Booz Allen Hamilton. Poston brings over two decades of IT leadership experience in agency transformation, enterprise system integration, IT strategy and related support cases.

Jim Vant, Octo Consulting’s executive vice president, commented, “Harold’s hiring is representative of our increased investment in our support of our DoD customers. He brings deep industry experience and knowledge which is a combination we strongly desired in the person who would hold this position.”

Poston was previously in the military before joining the information technology sector in 2006. He serves as a U.S. Army signal officer for nine years. He earned a bachelors’ degree in business administration from The Citadel.

Octo received a strategic investment from Arlington Capital in April of 2019. Mehul Sanghani commented on his rationale for taking on a capital partner, “Octo’s continued exponential growth over the last several years gave us many lucrative acquisition alternatives. However, rather than pursue any alternatives that would exit the brand and legacy we have built, we chose to partner with Arlington, a private equity firm with a longstanding history of successful investments in the government services and technology sector.”
