General Dynamics Information Technology is expanding its work with Splunk to bring AI-enabled cybersecurity tools to federal agencies. The new collaboration agreement integrates Splunk’s data platform into GDIT’s Digital Accelerators and Mission Solutions portfolio, giving agencies additional tools to monitor cyber activity, protect critical infrastructure, and meet federal security requirements.
The alliance centers on building a security operations center that leverages agentic artificial intelligence to detect, isolate, and remediate cyber threats. The systems apply artificial intelligence to correlate cyber data, improving situational awareness across networks. Additionally, the partnership will develop advanced zero trust architectures to protect critical public systems against sophisticated digital attacks.
GDIT has already embedded these technical capabilities across several government programs, including a zero trust solution deployed across 187 U.S. Air Force bases supporting more than one million global users. It also provides cybersecurity services for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency, which serves 8.8 million residents. Ben Gianni, GDIT senior vice president and chief technology officer, stated that the partnership "will enable us to deliver differentiated, scalable solutions that harden our customers’ cyber defenses."
The agreement is a component of the firm’s Vision, Acceleration and Innovation strategy, which focuses on deepening relationships with commercial technology providers. Bill Rowan, vice president of sales for Splunk public sector, stated that the companies are ensuring "federal agencies have the robust, scalable tools required to protect their data."
