KPMG has announced a global expansion of its alliance with Microsoft to scale governed, production-ready AI agents across its entire network. The agreement centers on a dual-pronged deployment of Microsoft Agent 365 and Microsoft 365 Copilot across a workforce of more than 276,000 professionals. The integration serves as a commercial reference blueprint to help corporate clients transition isolated technology pilots into heavily regulated operating models.
This infrastructure pivot addresses operational risk by introducing centralized visibility, lifecycle management, and compliance monitoring for active automated workflows. Central to the technical rollout is the KPMG Workbench ecosystem, an orchestration platform engineered on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry that coordinates agent fleets across data environments. For client service delivery, the automated capabilities are being directly wired into advisory, tax, and the smart audit platform KPMG Clara.
The integration establishes verified system ownership, runtime oversight, and network access protections to manage automated agents.
