Sikich Secures $250 Million Investment from Bain Capital, Maintains Control Amidst Industry Shifts

Accounting and consulting business Sikich, located in Chicago has secured a significant minority investment of $250 million from private equity giant Bain Capital. In contrast to other previous majority agreements in the sector, Sikich will continue to hold executive and operational control over the business. Under CEO Christopher Geier's stewardship since 2017, Sikich has experienced exponential growth, with revenue surging nearly 300% and establishing a presence across major US markets, boasting a workforce of nearly 2,000 professionals.

The investment from Bain Capital signifies a pivotal moment for Sikich, providing the firm with substantial resources to sustain its growth trajectory. Geier highlighted the company's aggressive plan for growth and diversification, which has seen it double in size in only the last five years. Partnering with Bain Capital, a renowned global investor with approximately $185 billion in assets under management, underscores Sikich's strategic direction and commitment to delivering value to both employees and clients. Bain Capital's Cristian Jitianu expressed confidence in Sikich's differentiated business model and pledged support for its continued growth through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, ensuring the company retains majority control while maximizing value creation.
