Under a new partnership with AI lab informatics provider Sapio Sciences, ZS will deliver consulting and implementation services for the Sapio Platform. The collaboration targets biopharma research and development alongside chemistry, manufacturing, and controls laboratories. As part of the agreement, ZS has officially joined the Sapio Partner Program as a consulting partner to deploy its global network for solution architecture, systems integration, change management, and validation support.

The partnership directly addresses the operational necessity for AI-ready, traceable laboratory data and governed workflows within strictly regulated environments. Modern biopharma organizations face extreme pressure to increase development speed, reduce research expenditures, and secure higher clinical success rates. The joint venture connects electronic laboratory notebooks and laboratory information management systems to enterprise data pipelines, ensuring strict scientific context and regulatory compliance.

The technical deployment covers three main functional domains across the laboratory lifecycle. In discovery phases, the architecture integrates laboratory workflows with enterprise data environments to track experiments and samples. For development and manufacturing, the system interfaces directly with quality and regulatory platforms. Finally, the data architecture links the core informatics engine with analytics tools to accelerate end-to-end lab decision flows.

This deployment combines software architecture with specialized lifecycle support to enforce data integrity. Mike Hampton, Chief Commercial Officer at Sapio Sciences, stated that biopharma groups are investing heavily in digital laboratories where "data integrity and operational coordination are critical." Rohan Fernando, Managing Principal at ZS, added that "modern science depends on AI-ready, traceable lab data" to enable effective workflow collaboration.
