Mathew Tierney is the Global Insurance Practice leader for Grant Thornton and maintains offices in both New York City and Philadelphia. Tierney also serves on the Global Business Consulting Leadership team for Grant Thornton International, a U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, one of the world's leading independent audit, tax and advisory firms. Over Tierney’s career he has worked in the United States, London, Bermuda and Germany working with Global Insurance Companies and Monetary Authorities. He has specialized in the Insurance sector and has maintained a concentration in the P&C, Life and Health Insurance lines.
Tierney has served a select group of leading US and international insurers. Today, Tierney oversees the firm's go to market strategy for the Insurance sector, which includes the creation of industry centric solutions, related service delivery teams and quality execution for our global accounts. Tierney sits on the board for the Society of Insurance Financial Management (SIFM) which consists of global CFO’s and professional service Partners focused on finance in the insurance sector. Tierney received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Widener University. Tierney is also a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Program.
