EY Enhances Sustainability Consultancy with Denkstatt Acquisition

Global professional services firm EY has announced the acquisition of Austria-based sustainability consulting company Denkstatt, marking a strategic move to bolster its support for companies in addressing sustainability challenges comprehensively. Founded in 1993 in Vienna, Denkstatt has established itself as a leading provider of sustainability consulting services, boasting a team of 170 professionals across five countries. Denkstatt's Co-founder and Managing Partner, Christian Plas, anticipates that the merger will elevate the level of advisory services, leveraging their collective knowledge to provide holistic, technically sound, and industry-specific solutions to clients, drawing on three decades of experience and expertise.

Under the brand EY Denkstatt Österreich, the firm will integrate into EY's network in its current operational countries. This acquisition positions EY to offer comprehensive consulting services, ranging from sustainable business orientation to technical and scientific expertise, as well as regulatory compliance and sustainability reporting. Gunther Reimoser, Country Managing Partner of EY Austria, emphasizes the shared commitment to supporting companies in their sustainable development journey, aligning services closely with clients' corporate structures and offering end-to-end solutions tailored to specific industries. It reflects EY's broader initiative to strengthen its sustainability capabilities, aligning with its 2021 pledge to invest in decarbonization solutions and tackle sustainability challenges effectively.
