Global consulting firm Slalom has appointed Mike Shimota as the regional leader for its Asia Pacific (APAC) business. Shimota, who joined Slalom in January 2020 to spearhead the firm's entry into the Australian market, has played a pivotal role in the company's growth, leading it to become a prominent digital consulting firm with a $90 million business in Australia. Under his leadership, Slalom expanded into New Zealand in 2023, establishing a presence in Auckland alongside existing hubs in Melbourne and Sydney.
Since his appointment in April, Shimota has assumed an expanded role, overseeing Slalom's operations not only in Australia and New Zealand but also in Japan and soon-to-launch operations in Singapore. With over 30 years of consulting experience, including stints in the U.S., Japan, and Singapore, Shimota brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. His diverse background has equipped him with the adaptability and collaborative skills necessary for navigating varied cultures and business environments. Slalom, a global firm with over 13,000 team members across eight countries, boasts partnerships with over 400 leading technology providers, positioning it for continued growth and success in the APAC region.
