In an early January press release, Pasadena, California-based consulting and engineering services firm Tetra Tech announced its acquisition of enterprise technology services, cybersecurity, and management consulting business Amyx, Inc. The Reston, Virginia-based firm will join Tetra Tech as part of its Federal IT division.

Amyx was founded in 1999 and currently provides cybersecurity, application modernization, systems engineering, program management support, and financial management to more than 30 federal government programs. The firm has worked with the General Services Administration, U.S. Transportation Command, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Department of the Air Force, National Guard Bureau, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency, Department of Energy, Department of State, and Department of the Army. In 2022, the firm was ranked as the fourth largest cybersecurity provider in the Washington, DC metropolitan area by the Washington Business Journal.

Founded in 1966, Tetra Tech uses a “Leading with Science” approach to develop clear solutions to complex problems in international development, renewable energy, water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure. The firm employs more than 22,000 associates working on a wide variety of global projects. Tetra Tech is the 2022 recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration Dwight D. Eisenhower Award, Excellence in Service Category, and was listed in Newsweek’s 2021 list of America’s Most Responsible Companies.

The acquisition of Amyx is Tetra Tech’s third in the last year. It acquired Piteau Associates and Axiom Data Sciences in March 2022 to boost its advanced analytics capabilities to provide climate data solutions, water management, and geotechnical solutions.
