The Top 25 Women Leaders in IT Managed Services of 2021

The IT Services Report is pleased to announce The Top 25 Women Leaders in IT Managed Services of 2021. These exceptional women have excelled in a highly competitive industry that continues to evolve at a fast clip.  Hailing from varied backgrounds they contribute an array of expertise, yet one thing unifies these executives and that’s their commitment to customer success. They work in diverse organizations where communication and collaboration skills are paramount in delivering effective solutions to increasingly complex client needs.  Offering services spanning overall IT management, workflow improvement, remote monitoring, cloud migration, help desk support, and more, these leaders have maintained a dedication to innovation and continuous process improvement.

This year's awardees were nominated and selected based on evaluation of their professional achievements and demonstrated leadership capabilities.  While the number of nominations was a factor, we paid more attention to the quality of the nomination submissions and substantive feedback on the nominee's performance, particularly in challenging situations.

1. Kate Bolseth
Company: HelpSystems
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Kate Bolseth is the Chief Executive Officer of HelpSystems, a provider of IT systems and network management services. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, HelpSystems offers managed IT services, business intelligence, and security and compliance solutions for small businesses and Fortune 100 companies. Bolseth joined the company in 2015 as a general manager of cross-platform product lines, setting strategy and overseeing operational functions. She later became the company’s chief operating officer before being named CEO in 2019. She recently led the company’s acquisition of Digital Defense, a provider of cybersecurity software-as-a-service (SaaS) for enterprise clients.

Before joining HelpSystems, Bolseth held several executive management positions, including COO and vice president of product strategy and development for Amcom Software. She was also executive vice president of engineering and development at Wireless Ronin Technologies and VP of global development at High Jump Software. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.

 

2. Gina Murphy
Company: Navisite
Title: President and Chief Operating Officer

Gina Murphy is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Navisite, a managed cloud service provider based in Andover, Massachusetts. Founded in 1996, Navisite is a fusion of several successful IT consulting and managed services providers, accelerating transformation for both growing and established brands. The company aims its services at middle-market enterprises, providing customized technology services powered by partnerships with AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, and VMware. Murphy most recently joined Navisite as President and COO, overseeing service portfolio, operations, and customer engagement. She is dedicated to understanding her clientele’s fundamental needs and developing innovative solutions and compliant delivery strategies.

She originally joined Navisite in 2005, serving as president of sales engineering, application development, and enterprise systems. Additionally, she has served as a senior vice president and general manager at Rackspace, and held several executive roles at TriCore Solutions (acquired by Rackspace). She attended Stonehill College, where she is a member of the athletic hall of fame.

 

3. Sara Baack
Company: Equinix
Title: Chief Product Officer

Sara Baack is the Chief Product Officer of Equinix, a managed IT services and data center provider. Based in Redwood City, California, Equinix is a digital infrastructure company seeking to enable its clients to harness the power of technology to their advantage. The technology firm, founded in 1998, boasts partnerships with Fortune 500 companies like Netflix and Cisco and annual revenue of over $5 billion. As CPO, Baack is responsible for designing, engineering, and delivering the firm’s portfolio of products and services. She joined Equinix in 2012 as chief marketing officer, defining the company’s global brand development and market strategy.

Previously, she served in a variety of senior management positions with Level 3 Communications, including senior vice president of voice services. She began her career with PaineWebber Inc. (UBS Financial Services) as a financial analyst, ultimately serving the company as VP of principal transactions. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Rice University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

 

4. Katie Norman
Company: STL
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Katie Norman is the Chief Executive Officer of STL, an independent managed IT services and staffing company. Based in Bloomington, Illinois, STL is a family-owned technology enterprise providing small and medium businesses with professional and scalable IT staff and state-of-the-art cloud, voice, data center, and cybersecurity services. Norman founded STL in 1991 with her husband, Tim, built-in their basement and grown into a premier American staffing and professional services enterprise, generating annual revenue near $20 million.

As CEO, she is responsible for overseeing STL’s back-office operations, compliance, human resources, and overall strategy. She leads her company strengthened by her Midwestern values and actively participates in her community. Currently, she serves as a member of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer management and administrative office management from Eastern Illinois University.

 

5. Jaclyn Miller
Company: Secure-24, Inc. (NTT)
Title: Chief Information Security Officer

Jaclyn Miller is the Chief Information Security Officer for Secure-24, Inc., the managed services division of NTT Ltd. (America). Based in Southfield, Michigan, Secure-24 provides critical and comprehensive cloud and infrastructure management services for enterprises worldwide. The company boasts partnerships with Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, and AWS and revenue of over $100 million annually. In her role, Miller is responsible for the company’s security and compliance program, as well as executing standards and policies for data centers, global service integration, and more. Her team ensures that the company’s IT services, technology, development, and security services meet contractual and regulatory requirements across industries, ensuring technology security for Secure-24’s clients.

Miller boasts 20 years of finance and technology experience, having worked with Secure-24 since 2008, beginning as a sales operations manager and serving in several different departments and roles throughout the company. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

 

6. Liz Riley
Company: Logically (Carolinas IT)
Title: Chief Operating Officer

Liz Riley is the Chief Operating Officer of Logically, a managed IT services provider for small and medium businesses (SMBs). Based in Portland, Maine, Logically helps its customers use the power of information technology to achieve their goals, providing solutions for corporations, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, and public sector organizations. Riley has served Logically as COO since 2019 while also overseeing the Managed Services and Professional Services teams. She joined the company in 2014 as a marketing analyst, ultimately climbing her way to executive positions like vice president of sales and marketing and senior vice president of service.

Previously, she had a 7-year career with the Portland Sea Dogs, a minor league baseball team, working as a director of sales and marketing and assistant general manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a Master of Education and Sports Management degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts.

 

7. Adriana Sandoval
Company: RKON Technologies
Title: Chief Financial Officer

Adriana Sandoval is the Chief Financial Officer at RKON Technologies, a Chicago-based managed IT services and cloud computing company. Founded in 1998, RKON delivers IT transformation for private equity and enterprise clients with Quiet IT, a vision-to-execution process of optimizing IT infrastructure that enables a cost-effective, scalable, secure, compliant, and hands-off solution. Sandoval is a strong professional and an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 20 years of experience in business, accounting, and finance. She has served RKON as CFO since 2018, overseeing the firm’s accounting and finance teams.

Before joining RKON, Sandoval was a vice president at Northern Trust Asset Management, serving as a product manager providing tax oversight for a variety of funds and developing tax compliance product offerings for hedge and private equity clients. She was also a finance manager for Healthy Interactions and a senior accounting professional with Thoma Bravo. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Robert Morris College and a Master of Financial Accounting and Management degree from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University.

 

8. Meg Fleming

Meg Fleming is the President of SymQuest, a managed IT infrastructure and services provider based in South Burlington, Vermont. Founded in 1996, SymQ

uest designs, installs, and hosts business technology systems of all sizes, specializing in cloud computing and software applications that promote enhanced workplace productivity. The company also provides physical and electronic document management, network security, and business continuation services. SymQuest also leads several green initiatives, including enhanced virtualization technology and toner recycling programs.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Fleming has led SymQuest to its position as one of northern New England’s premier technology companies and oversees the entire executive team. During her time with the company, she has held several director and management positions, developing a reputation for skilled leadership. In addition to her long career with SymQuest, she briefly held a position with Airborne Express. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Saint Michael’s University in Vermont.

 

9. Preeti Menon
Company: Happiest Minds Technologies
Title: Senior Vice President

Preeti Menon is the Senior Vice President for Happiest Minds Technologies, a managed IT services and digital transformation company. Headquartered in Bengaluru, India, the self-proclaimed “Mindful IT Company,” Happiest Minds is a next-generation technology services company that values mindfulness in its approach to customers, team members, and community. The company boasts partnerships with AWS, IBM, VMware, and Microsoft and accolades such as a “Great Place to Work” certification.

In her dual role, Menon is responsible for the Product Engineering and Services Business Unit, overseeing engineering and quality management. She has over 20 years of experience leading large teams and delivering multi-million-dollar projects. Previously, she served as a technical director for AOL India and as a project manager for Symphony Services. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from St. Xavier’s College, a graduate degree from the Indian Business School, and a graduate certificate from the National Institute of Information Technology in Bombay.

 

10. Elisabete Mleczak
Company: Connectis (Getronics)
Title: Vice President of Client Services

Elisabete Mleczak is the Vice President of Client Services for Connectis, a managed IT provider and subsidiary of Getronics. Connectis is the Latin America division and brand of Getronics, a Dutch-headquartered technology services company. With customers throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America, Getronics provides end-to-end technology capabilities designed to build digital experiences that drive real business outcomes. The company specializes in creating and managing all aspects of a digital workspace, including smart spaces, security and compliance, cloud computing, and more.

Mleczak joined the group in 2019 and serves in dual roles as a VP and as a regional Managing Director, with a focus on driving growth throughout Latin America. Previously, she was director of global services with BT and a network delivery leader with HP Enterprise Services. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in telecommunications engineering from Anhembi Morumbi University and a Master of Business Administration degree in information technology from Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil.

 

11. Tamara Tran
Company: Rylex Consulting LLC
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Tamara Tran is the Chief Executive Officer of Rylex Consulting LLC, a Utah-based managed IT services provider. Rylex provides top-tier IT solutions for government agencies and private businesses, specializing in network support, database development, and professional, administrative, and management support services. Additionally, Rylex is a Certified Federal Government contractor with years of experience and expertise in the defense sector. Tran founded Rylex in 2004 with her husband Ly and has grown it into a premier provider of IT services and support, boasting the U.S. Air Force, Army, and Marine Corps, as well as the Departments of Labor and Justice as clients. Her management style includes hiring skilled workers, stepping aside, affording them trust and freedom, and delivering outstanding results to Rylex’s clientele.

Additionally, Tran serves as the president of Integrinet Solutions and Woodbury Technologies, two related companies specializing in public sector clients across several varied industries. She began her professional career in 1990, working as a mortgage loan processor for First Security Bank while attending Brigham Young University. Tran is also a member of the board of directors for the Cambodia Job Foundation.

 

12. Audrey Taylor

Title: Chief Executive Officer

Audrey Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer of netlogx, an IT consulting services company. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, netlogx helps enterprises adapt to the ever-changing IT ecosystem, focusing on risk management and driving success. Taylor founded the company in 1998, growing it from a local business to a successful multi-state organization with a growing presence in Europe. As a businesswoman, she is considered a visionary strategist with strengths in customer relationship management and staff development, and she maintains a strong company culture of inclusion and diversity.

Before founding netlogx, Taylor was a lead business analyst for the State of Indiana for nearly 20 years, as well as a business analyst for Thorn EMI Financial Services. She began her company as a senior analyst programmer with Royal Insurance Company Limited in the United Kingdom, her home country. She serves on the boards of the Indianapolis chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the International School of Indiana, and Women & Hi-Tech.

 

13. Lynne McGrew

Title: Chief Executive Officer

Lynne McGrew is the Chief Executive Officer of iT Services 2 (iT2), a managed IT services and cloud solutions provider. Based in suburban Dallas, Texas, iT2 is a woman-owned consulting firm delivering comprehensive SAP services and solutions, in addition to several other managed IT offerings. With over 100 satisfied customers across the U.S., iT2 is a full-service managed services provider with small business values. McGrew has led the iT2 team since its inception in 2007, driving the company’s strategy as a boutique alternative to large MSPs.

Previously, McGrew was president and co-founder of IT Services Inc., her current company’s predecessor, which was acquired by DPRC/Compuware. She also served as a branch manager and account manager at ACS Technology Systems and as an account manager and recruiter with Cap Gemini America. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from North Carolina State University and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.

 

14. Lisa Thaller
Company: Les Olson Company
Title: Chief Business Officer, Chairman of the Board

Lisa Thaller is the Chief Business Officer, Chairman of the Board of the Les Olson Company, a managed IT services provider. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Les Olson Company supports office technology infrastructure with managed services, offering equipment, expertise, and solutions to enterprises of all sizes. The firm has received many accolades, including achieving AAA Platinum Service Provider status from Sharp Electronics and the 2019 Family Owned Business Award from Nevada Business Magazine.

Thaller began her career with the company in 1982 as a file clerk and has ascended to the executive echelon through her commitment to and passion for hard work and service. In addition to her role as CBO, she is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and has served the company as chief financial officer as well. She is a board member of the Legacy of Life Foundation and the Salt Lake Advisory Board of Zions First National Bank. She holds a degree from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.

 

15. Nadia Fahim-Koster

Nadia Fahim-Koster is a Partner at Meditology Services, a managed IT services company working exclusively with healthcare organizations. Previously, she spent nearly 20 years with PPG Industries, last serving as director of business development. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

 

17. Toni Gorveatt

Toni Gorveatt is the President of Cobb Technologies, a Virginia-based managed IT services company. Cobb Technologies is an office technology provider specializing in cutting-edge solutions to help companies run more efficiently at lower costs. With nearly 30 years of service and experience, Gorveatt joined the company in 1993 as the Richmond sales manager, and has become an integral part of its success. Under her guidance, the company has expanded to six locations and now employs over 120 staff members. She has also grown the company’s customer base to over 9,000 clients across Virginia.

 

18. Shayla Hale

Shayla Hale is the Vice President of Operations for The AME Group, a managed IT services company headquartered in Vincennes, Indiana. For over 35 years, AME has grown from a small-town business into a successful multi-state venture. The company is organized under an Employee-Owned Stock Ownership Plan, making it 100% employee-owned. AME focuses on the healthcare, manufacturing, education, and business sectors, striving to provide the best customer service and organizational outcomes for all involved.

Hale joined the company in 1989, becoming closely familiar with every aspect of its operations, and has served as VP of Operations for over 20 years. In her position, she oversees all of the company’s operations, including call management, automation, purchasing, sales, shipping and receiving, inventory, maintenance contracts, warranty, and accounting. She holds a degree in accounting from Vincennes University.

 

19. Cindy Bisner

Title: Director of Operations

Cindy Bisner is the Director of Operations for Integrated IT, a Massachusetts-based managed IT services company. Founded in 1999, Integrated IT has established hundreds of long-term partnerships with clients across multiple sectors, including educational industries and governmental agencies. With over 25 years of experience, Bisner is a dedicated professional with a long record of satisfying clients and stakeholders alike, as well as a strategic IT leader and champion of change. In her role at Integrated IT, she oversees a consistent flow of service improvement initiatives and is responsible for incorporating IT infrastructure library (ITIL) processes based on best practice guidelines.

Before joining Integrated IT, Bisner was an IT service manager with health services organization Cigna and an operational support manager with UnitedHealth Group. Previously, she was a service desk manager for MVP Health in Schenectady, New York. Bisner also served from 2014 to 2019 as an adjunct professor at Elms College in Massachusetts, teaching project management for the M.B.A. program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Westfield State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare leadership from Elms College.

 

20. Julie Gable
Company: TBConsulting
Title: Chief Operating Officer

Julie Gable is the Chief Operating Officer of TBConsulting, an Arizona-based managed IT and cloud computing services provider. Founded in 1996, TBConsulting helps organizations leverage technology toward success, offering a comprehensive selection of services and solutions including hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, data backup and recovery, IT and communications management, and more. With nearly 25 years of IT experience, Gable serves as a unifying force as COO, maintaining executive focus and aligning strategy with stated goals for the company and its clients. She also serves TBConsulting as its integrator, maintaining the company’s systems integrations. Previously, she has served the company as its director of strategic initiatives and IT service management.

Before joining TBConsulting, Gable spent seven years as a consultant and executive at Accenture, performing the duties of a project manager, business architect, and testing lead. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in international marketing from Arizona State University.

 

21. Rebecca Hogan

Title: Co-Founder and Vice President

Rebecca Hogan is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Hogan Consulting Group, a managed IT services provider based in Chesterton, Indiana. Established in 2004, Hogan Consulting Group is a strategic IT partner providing next-generation data center and cloud technologies to optimize, deliver, manage, and secure complex enterprise IT infrastructures. With offices throughout the Midwest, the company offers industry-leading virtualization and cloud strategies and other solutions that improve business agility and boost user productivity. Since its inception, Hogan has helmed the company alongside her husband, Michael, its President and CEO. Together, the couple had a strong vision of creating an employee-centric technology services company and now boasts over 25 skilled and dedicated team members serving clients across the country. She utilizes over ten years of experience as a Registered Nurse in her role as an executive, allowing her to think quickly and solve problems effectively in high-pressure situations. Her operational and HR skills are key drivers in her company’s success.

 

22. Stacie Hoover

Stacie Hoover is the Senior Vice President of Sales at Higher Information Group (HIG), a managed IT services company based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Previously, she pursued a career in fashion before shifting her sights toward technology. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing from the California University of Pennsylvania.

 

23. Heather Streit

Title: Vice President of Business Development

Heather Streit is the Vice President of Business Development for Innovative Communication Systems, a Texas-based managed IT and communications provider. Founded in 1981, Innovative Communication Systems offers managed IT solutions that increase productivity and provide a positive return-on-investment, with a reputation for integrity and reliability. Streit is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with 20 years of experience in brand communication and operations management. In her current role, she leads the orchestration and execution of business development strategies while also exploring new market opportunities.

 

24. Anna Darlagiannis

Title: Vice President of Client Services

Anna Darlagiannis is the Vice President of Client Services for Bryley Systems, Inc., a managed IT, cloud computing, and cybersecurity services provider. Darlagiannis has been a successful member of the Bryley team for over a decade. In 2021, she was promoted to VP of Client Services, overseeing all aspects from account management, updates, training, and proposals through its Client Business Reviews. Previously in her tenure with Bryley, she was a client relationship manager, account executive, and director of client services. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The University of Connecticut.

 

25. Mary Bradford

Title: Operations Manager

Mary Bradford is the Operations Manager of Corporate Technologies, a managed IT services provider based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The company began in 1981 as a ComputerLand franchise, and has grown into one of the largest technology companies in the Midwest. The company calls its managed services division Technology Advantage, an enterprise solution that offers Fortune 500-level IT maintenance for a small business price. With over 20 years of experience within the company, Bradford serves as the Vice President of Corporate Technologies. Previously, she held an operations manager position, overseeing back office functions including human resources, accounting, and more. She began her career with the company in 1998 as an account executive. She also holds certifications as an IBM Certified Specialist in System X Sales V5 and V6, and is a certified VWare Sales Professional.
