Accenture Federal Services Secures $94 Million Army Contract for Enhanced Identity and Access Management

Arlington, Virgini July 11, 2023 Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has emerged victorious with a significant $94 million contract from the U.S. Army. The contract aims to enhance and maintain the Army's Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) system, a critical component in safeguarding the nation's cybersecurity infrastructure.

In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, cybersecurity threats have become increasingly sophisticated, requiring the military to adopt scalable and modern solutions to protect its networks. Recognizing this need, Accenture Federal Services, led by managing directors Keith Runtz and Dana Oliver, is committed to delivering a fast, secure, and auditable ICAM solution that will bolster the Army's cybersecurity capabilities and streamline its enterprise efficiency.

The primary goal of the ICAM project is to provide the Army with real-time access control capabilities while managing more than 1,500 applications. This will be achieved through the automation of user account provisioning, utilizing commercial standards and architectures. By reducing manual ICAM labor, redundant gear, software, and services, the Army can focus on enhancing data exchange, risk management, and system security.

The contract will span one year, with three 12-month extension options, enabling Accenture Federal Services to provide continuous support and refinement to ensure the Army's ICAM remains at the cutting edge of technology.

Key elements of the ICAM transformation include Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). These features will significantly bolster the Army's ability to manage identities, access privileges, and ensure secure authentication, consequently fortifying the overall integrity of its cybersecurity framework.

Notably, the improvements brought about by Accenture Federal Services will not only enhance the Army's capabilities but also promote interoperability with other defense organizations and mission partners, strengthening the Department of Defense's collective efforts to safeguard national security.
